International Prairie Student Conference 2016

The University of Manitoba’s student chapter of the Water Environment Federation (UMWEF) is pleased to announce International Prairie Student Conference (IPSC) 2016. The conference is the tenth annual meeting between the University of Manitoba, North Dakota State University and South Dakota State University, which provides an international platform where graduate students can showcase their research, connect with fellow WEF members, and discuss current environmental issues with industrial and academic professionals.

The conference will be held at the University of Manitoba on August 10-12th , 2016. The call for abstracts is now open. If you wish to present, please complete the attached form and submit it by email to Yanan Ren at The deadline for abstract submission is July 1 st , 2016. Topics include research and reviews related to wastewater, water, and solid waste issues with a focus on the design, application and economics of treatment strategies. Issues to be discussed include nutrient removal and recovery, micropollutants in wastewater, water management in water bodies and sewer systems, agricultural/industrial wastes and landfill operation. Presentation at the conference is encouraged, but not required. Presentations should be 15-20 min long followed by 10 min of open discussion. We encourage all presenters to follow the guidelines prepared by WEF.
